About Me

Hello all! Thanks for coming to my website. One version of hell is posting a picture and talking about yourself on a public forum, and by one version I mean my version. For me, it seems arrogant, like why would someone care. In this case, I wrote a book. So, checking out the author to make sure he knows what’s going on and isn’t some weirdo who started a cult makes a whole lot of sense.

In 2003 I joined the United States Navy and went through the Navy Nuclear Power Pipeline. From there, the Navy sent me to the USS Nimitz, where my work consisted of performing

maintenance and standing watch in a power plant. One thing I’m really proud of is actually three things: qualifying Load Dispatcher (directing 6 other operators monitoring electricity), becoming Work Center Supervisor (managing 20 – 25 people in performing maintenance), and receiving a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (people liked that I did those two other things).

From there, life took me to Bryan Texas Utilities as a System Operator performing distribution and transmission operations. It was a lot of fun working with lineman, substation technicians, and, always my boys, the control room operators. While working in the control room, I finished my Bachelor’s from Bismarck State in Energy Management.

Next, the Midcontinent Independent System Operator hired me to perform a series of control room tasks, expanding my knowledge in Bulk Electric System Operations and interchange. Always a glutton for punishment, it seemed like a good idea to get MBA from the University of Miami, which was completed in 2020.

This experience gives me the ability to write a book on How Electricity Gets to Your House. Walking around every day like half an idiot, gives me reason to believe This Book Isn’t Boring.

Fun Fact: I’ve Been in a Couple Commercials

Family Life

Kansas State tried to name their stadium after the football coach, but Bill Snyder demurred (not a word I use in the book). They came to a compromise and named it after his family, Bill Snyder Family Stadium. I feel the same way, but without all the accolades or having anyone trying to name anything after me. We like to hang out at home, eat good food, watch sports, occasionally fight about something unimportant, but mostly laugh.
